FAITHS DANCE CONCERT

Lexie and Faith in their dance costumes

Faith had her dance concert today. I know that I was more excited about it than she was. I love to watch her dance, probably because I didnt dance very long as a kid because I was too shy. I didnt think Faith would even make it up on the stage because sometimes I have a hard time getting her to even go to practice. Faith can be very shy and also has a bad habbit of biting her finger nails when shes nervous. Faith surprised me today, she got right up on that stage and did her little dance. She did great and was the cutest reindeer up there.

LONGHURST CHRISTMAS PARTY

Landen, Landon, Jaylee, Brooklyn, and Brody
Faith with cousins Kira, lexie and Kiley

After Faith and Lexie's dance concert we went to Josh and Meagans house for our annual Longhurst Christmas party. For dinner we had a potatoe bar. There was a cookie exchange and for dessert pie. Every year I look forward to this party because we play the white elephant game. This family is really fun to play with because no one hesitates to steal from each other and family members team together to get what they want (guilty as charged). This year I made out good. I got just what I wanted, a cute cowboy snowman and a bottle of Xango juice. Oh and the kids had a great time too:)

GRANNIE PARTY

Sunday night we had our "grannie party". My grandpa Merl's mother was named Natalia which means Merry Christmas in italian. Grannie Natalia loved Christmas because of this so every year we have our "grannie party". We all stuff ourselves with great mexican food. This is a family photo. It is tradition every year for Ronnie to ruin the picture, this year he's not the only funny face:)

SCARY FACE

Last night while we were at Ron and Lydia's, Faith found an ink pen. Faith came out of the toy room where she was playing (too quitely)to show us her "scary face". This picture fails to show how she also colored her stomach from her belly button to her neck. At least it wasnt on the wall.

NEVER EAT YELLOW SNOW!

(Jaylee's cute hat was a gift made by Sariah)

( Me above Ronnie below)

Over the weekend we went to our "Little Red Cabin". We had quite the trip... The first night we were there Lydia locked the keys in her truck and we waited about three hours for a lock smith to come unlock the truck. The next day I was listening to the radio in my tahoe and ran the battery dead. For those of you who don't know "little red" is in the middle of no where land. It was freezing ( our dash read 3 degrees) but it made perfect weather for sledding. Faith had never been sledding before and its been about 15 years for me and its still as fun as ever.

TOO MUCH TURKEY!

GOBBLE GOBBLE!! FAITH with cousin CHANCE

UNCLE JAY & JAYLEE

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Today we had some of my family at our house for Thanksgiving (about 16 people). I made deviled eggs, cucumber and tomatoe salad, and homemade mashed potatoes. My uncle David brought a turkey that was cooked in a pit and it was the best turkey I have ever tasted (notice I said tasted). I don't eat meat but im not a vegitarian. We also had Ronnie's wild turkey that he shot while hunting, Chris deep fried it for us. It looked funny but tasted ok. After we ate some of us road our four wheelers out in the desert behind our house. Later in the evening we went to Ronnie's parents house and visited. It was a nice thanksgiving.

WOMEN DRIVERS!!

Ok so I'm out there making a bad name for all of us women drivers. Sunday night we had some family over for a BBQ. We ran out of butter so I went over to borrow some from my grandparents. I got in my tahoe and opened the garage and backed right into my mother in laws car. My hitch put a big fat hole in her bumper. Pretty sad because my truck beeps at me when Im about to hit something. In my defense I have to say that our drive slopes and the sensor is above the hitch which is responsible for the hole. My last accident was in May about two weeks after I got my new tahoe. I was driving around trying to get Faith to sleep when I ran my front left side into a SMALL irrigation canal. They really need to make front sensors too. The accident before that was 10 years ago when I ran a two way stop sign and hit another car and totaled my truck on the way to a party (I was 17). Then the accident before that was the day after my 16th birthday when I smashed into the car at the pump in front of me at the gas station. Im not due for another accident for the next 10 years. On a more serious note, I felt terrible about hitting Lydia's car and was scared to death to walk back into my house to tell them. Ronnie took the news worse than anyone. Of course we will be fixing the car too.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Last weekend was Ronnie's 28th birthday. We really didn't do much because I am nursing and can't leave Jaylee for very long. Saturday night we had some of our friends over to watch the ultimate fighter finale so we had some chocolate cake and sang happy birthday. The picture above is from Ronnie's actual birthday wich was on the 12th. I made Ronnie his favorite birthday cake (and mine) cheesecake and we BBQ'd hamburgers at Ron and Lydia's. Ronnie got birthday money from his mom and dad and from grandpa Merl and grandma Nett. I bought him a book and some things for our cabin. Ronnie's favorite gift this year was our sweet new nephew Brody, who was born on his birthday. I have a cool picture of them in the hospital that I'll post later. It's hard to believe how old we are getting. I have loved Ronnie ( well for the most part :) ) for the last 15 years. I really can say that I've watched him grow up, although some days I have to wonder :) .

TRICK OR TREAT

These are my two little clowns. Last week we had their pictures taken for the first time together (by a photographer). Faith and Jaylee's grandma Lydia made their Halloween costumes this year and she did a great job, they really turned out darling. Thank you Lydia! The pictures may look funny because I took a picture of them with my camera.

Tonight we had our traditional Halloween pumpkin bread bowls with soup before we headed out trick or treating. Grandpa Ron, Grandma Lydia, Uncle Chris and Aunt Bailey went trick or treating with Ronnie, Faith, Jaylee and I. Faith would make sure that we all had a turn walking up to the doors with her. It was a great time and Faith made out with a whole bucket full of candy (for Ronnie to eat:) ). Kids can really make the hollidays fun all over again.

RONNIE'S DOCTOR APPOINTMENT

Today Ronnie had a doctors appointment. A year in a half ago Ronnie injured his knee while traing jiu-jitsu and had to have it operated on. His left knee has been really bothering him so he decided to have it checked out, the doctor scheduled him for a MRI. Hopefully he wont have to have another surgery. Ronnie has also had a pretty decent size lump in his right breast for the last year and a half. The doctor was some what concerned about it and pulled some strings to have Ronnie get it checked out right away. He is scheduled for and ultrasound and mammogram this Friday.

TRIP TO THE MOUNTAINS

Here is a picture of Jaylee's first trip to the Whiting Homestead at only four weeks old (taken this weekend). I have a similar picture of Faith but she was eight weeks old. I love this place I have been coming here since I was a baby as well as my dad, my grandma, my great grandpa and great great grandparents. This is our very favorite place to be with Capri By The Sea San Diego coming in at second. If you look closely you can see the snow on the ground. Faith snacked on it the whole time we were there.

This weekend we went to our "Little Red Cabin". It was the first time Faith, Jaylee and I have seen it. My grandpa Merl and grandma Nett came up for the day to help us do some small repairs. Faith had a blast, she loves the mountains, wild life and riding on the "vroom vroom" (four wheeler) with Ronnie. While they were out on the quad they saw elk and deer (Faith can do a great elk call). I am excited to make our cabin a cozy "little" place to stay and the best part about it is, it's just around the corner from the Homestead.

FIELD TRIP TO SCHNEPF FARM

Today Faith's preschool went on a field trip to Schnepf Farms. Faith's cousin Kiley Cluff goes to the same preschool but she is in the afternoon class, so Ronnie and Faith got to hang out with Kiley. They had fun riding the rides, eating their tasty sack lunch that I made them (PB&J) and picking pumpkins from the pumpkin patch. While Ronnie and Faith were having fun at the farm I was at home waiting for the bug man to treat our house for scorpions. Two days ago I killed a scorpion in our garage. I was too afraid to step on him with my shoe so I found a sledge hammer of Ronnie's and smashed it flat. When we got home that night Ronnie didnt believe me about the scorpion that was untill I heard him yelling for help from the bathroom. I found Ronnie resting on the toliet with a scorpion right next to his bare feet. After killing the scorpion in the bathroom we went on a scorpion hunt and found another one in our laundry room. We killed a total of three scorpions that day. For anyone that knows me, knows that I have four phobias in life... 1. sleeping home alone at night 2. heights (hence flying) 3. riding in the car when Ronnie is driving and 4.scorpions.

Jaylee Joy Michael

I went into labor at 7:00 pm Sept 26. Ronnie and I were addmitted to the hospital Sept 27 at 12:20 am. The hospital discharged us at 3:00 am saying that I was in "false labor", so we left. I woke Ronnie up at 5:30 am and told him that we better get back to the hospital because this was not false labor. The hospital readdmitted us at 6:15 am. The nurses put my IV in and walked me to the delivery room where my water broke before I could even get into the bed. I started pushing and Jaylee Joy was born at 7:35 am on Sept 27, 2006. Jaylee weighed 8lbs. 2 0z and was 21.75" long. So much for false labor. I am proud to say that the 10 week natural child birth classes that I MADE Ronnie go to with me really paid off. I had a 100% drug free child birth. Ronnie was a great coach and I could not have made it through without him. Jaylee was named after my dad who passed away in March of 2002, his name was Jay and also after my only brother, Jay. The lee part of Jaylee she gets from Ronnie, his middle name is lee. Jaylee's middle name Joy, is also my middle name, my mothers name and my grandmothers name, Sophies middle name and Ronnie had a aunt Joy. Jaylee really has been a great joy so far in my life and I feel very blessed to be given another perfect healthy baby.
